One of our most popular options, the 120-hour online TEFL certificate course provides you with high-quality course materials and results in an online TEFL certificate that is internationally recognized and accepted by employers worldwide. Among the many popular features of the course is the fact that you can work through it at whatever pace you want which means you are able to fit it around your existing schedule. On completion of the course you will also have access to our unique career support service for the duration of your EFL teaching career.

Once you have officially registered on the 120-hour course we will send you an email containing details that will enable you to log-in to your personal, restricted area of our online training course system. From your personal section of the system you will have access to the course materials which you can choose to either study directly online or download to your personal computer.

After studying the materials that accompany each individual unit, your understanding of that section will be evaluated before you move on and study the next unit in the course. There then follows a final essay writing task which will be submitted online for assessment by an online tutor. Once you have completed all aspects of the course, you will graduate and receive your 120-hour online TEFL certificate.

TEFL Course Aims

The 120-hour online course provides a complete introduction to the world of TEFL. Upon completion of the course, graduates should have developed a good working knowledge of the English grammatical system as well as an awareness of the skills and techniques required for successful language teaching.

TEFL Course Content

The 120-hour course consists of two main areas - teaching skills and language awareness. The teaching skills components provide details of the techniques and skills required by teachers in the classroom, including teaching theories and methodologies, classroom management, lesson planning and how to test and evaluate the progress of your students. The language awareness components give a solid foundation in the English grammar system, as well as covering other important subjects such as pronunciation.

The course is divided into 20 individual units, carefully chosen and organized to ensure a gradual build up of knowledge, whilst not overloading students with too much information at any one time. The structure of this unit design allows you to work through the course at a pace that suits your requirements.

There are two different options for how the lessons are undertaken and verified:

Option 2: You can find your own student/s and teach the lessons independently at a location of your choice, either face-to-face or remotely. You will need to video one of these sessions (1 hour) and send it to ITTT with your other documentation for verification.
